PSG reportedly eye Arsenal’s Martinelli in summer move

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held talks with current Premier League leaders Arsenal for the potential transfer of Gabriel Martinelli.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has been with the Gunners since 2019 and has scored scored 62 goals and provided 35 assists in 272 appearances in all competitions.

He currently has a year left on his contract with the option of further year but Arsenal are reportedly keen to cash in on him in the summer.

According to L’Equipe, PSG Football advisor Luis Campos has been in discussions with Martinelli’s representatives as the French giants look to bolster their attack.

Martinelli has been impressive for Arsenal in cup competitions this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in the UEFA Champions League and another four goals and one assist in the FA Cup.

He has however started in 11 of his 27 Premier League appearances, scoring just once and providing three assists, with Mikel Arteta’s side aiming to win the title for the first time since 2004.

Who else is PSG targeting?

Luis Enrique’s side are also reportedly in the hunt for Ivory Coast and RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old is a highly-rated prospect that has also been linked with Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.
