Paris Saint-Germain have received a big boost as Achraf Hakimi and Lucas Chevalier are set to return to training ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.
Hakimi has been out of action since the semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich with a thigh injury while Chevalier has been out since the ending of April after picking up a muscle injury in training.
This put their participation in next week’s final with Arsenal in Budapest in doubt, especially after Chevalier failed to make the France squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Head coach Luis Enrique will however be delighted as Hakimi is expected to return to training this week per L’Équipe. The same publication also reports that Chevalier is expected to return this week, first engaging in a light session before rejoining with the rest of his teammates.
Dembele to be monitored
Enrique will keep an eye on current Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembele who picked up a calf injury in Sunday’s Ligue 1 finale against rivals Paris FC and was replaced by Goncalo Ramos.
His substitution was a precaution and will receive treatment over the next few days to get him ready for the trip to Budapest.
There is still no update on the fitness of Nuno Mendes, William Pacho and Quentin Ndjantou, who are currently out with thigh and muscle injuries respectively.
