Enrique pleased with PSG’s extended lead over Lens

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique is happy his team were able to extend their lead over RC Lens at the top of the Ligue 1 standings after Saturday’s 3-0 win at Angers.

The Parisians are now six points ahead after Lens only managed to draw 3-3 with Brest on Friday.

The result puts Enrique’s side in a positive mood ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final with Bayern Munich at the Parc des on Tuesday.

“It feels good. We’ve extended our lead again. We’re six points ahead and there are four matches left,” the Spaniard said.

“It was important, I think the team started the game very well, really connected. We did the job properly and that’s very positive for us.

“When you get a result like this, it’s the best way to prepare for a Champions League semi-final. It’s important for each player’s confidence, but also for the team and the supporters.

“We are ready. Tomorrow, we’ll have our first training session ahead of this semi-final.”

PSG will next host Brest and Lorient in Ligue 1 before they face off with Lens in their penultimate game of the season.
