Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich continues to generate high buzz as ‘one of the greatest UCL games of all time’.

The electrifying encounter at Parc des Princes produced nine goals with PSG securing a first-leg advantage with a 5-4 win.

There is definitely more to play for in Munich in about a week but what did the stats say about the historic nine-goal thriller in Paris.

  • Following the 5-4 win, PSG coach Luis Enrique became the fastest manager in UCL history to reach 50 wins in the competition in his 77th game in charge.
  • PSG extended their attacking dominance in the Champions Legaue and they still remain the highest scoring team in the Champions League this season with 43 goals, a goal above Bayern Munich (42).
  • Following his brace of assists on Tuesday night, Desire Doue became the youngest under 21 years old to have a contribution of seven goals and six assists in the Champions League knock-out stage.
  • Only Harry Kane (21 goals) has scored more goals for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (20 goals) in the Champions League since the Georgian striker moved to Paris in January 2025.
  • Tuesday’s 5-4 scoreline was the first time in a European semi-final that both teams scored four or more goals and it stands as the highest-scoring semi-final match in a European competition since 1959-60 when Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Rangers 6-3.
