Paris Saint-Germain quartet of Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Vitinha and Goncalo Ramos have been called up to the Portugal squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Mendes, Neves, Vitinha have all been instrumental figures in PSG winning a record-extending 14th Ligue 1 title and also becoming the first French team to reach back-to-back UEFA Champions League finals.
Ramos has also played his part but largely from the bench, and is still seen as a valuable member of Roberto Martinez’s squad.
Portugal are among the favourites to win the World Cup, which will be their first-ever title should they go all the way. The Selecao have been paired in Group K with Colombia, DR Congo and Uzbekistan.
Marquinhos makes Brazil squad
The PSG captain was selected for the Brazil squad who will be hoping to win a record-extending sixth title.
Marquinhos will be making his third World Cup appearance having participated at the 2018 edition in Russia and the 2022 edition in Qatar.
