Liverpool Plot Double Swoop for Barcola and Mbaye

Liverpool are turning their Paris Saint-Germain interest into a double swoop. Reports on Wednesday claim the Premier League club want to sign both Bradley Barcola and fellow forward Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG, with talks over Barcola alone said to have stalled over the France forward’s valuation. For the reigning European champions, nothing is agreed — and Paris are in no rush to let either man go.

Why Liverpool are eyeing a double swoop

The interest has widened fast. Goal report Liverpool plan a double deal for Barcola and his team-mate, while This Is Anfield say the Reds are in contact over Mbaye as well as Barcola. Goal add that Liverpool are ready to pay around €50m for the highly-rated teenager as their pursuit of Barcola stalls.

Football365 report Liverpool have been given the green light to push for the pair, in a move claimed to be worth as much as £257m combined. Both are current PSG forwards under Luis Enrique, and with Paris valuing Barcola at a reported £145m, the Parc des Princes hold the stronger hand — as our coverage of PSG’s transfer window has underlined.

Nothing has been confirmed by either club. The reports remain at the interest stage, and PSG have given no public indication they are willing to sanction the sale of two attacking options in the same window.

With the window open, the next move sits with Liverpool. Unless the Reds edge closer to Paris’s numbers, a double swoop looks more ambition than agreement — and Les Parisiens appear content to hold firm.
